Prayer is the most important part of Northwest’s Ministries. Prayer is our direct communication with our God where we can speak to him as our loving Father and he can speak to us as his children. Prayer at Northwest is led by the Holy Spirit and conducted in the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit’s wisdom. All people are encouraged to have an active prayer life that involves listening to God as well as speaking to him.
We trust that God hears our prayers and answers them in his own special way. We see both miracles and ordinary answers and praise God for both. Prayer is also an important part of our church services and all are encouraged to grow in their prayer life. Our journey with God is directly impacted by the strength of our prayer life.
The primary source of pastoral care within Northwest is through our Bible Study Groups. All attendees are encouraged to join a Bible Study group. Each group cares for its people as much as possible and will refer special issues to the pastoral team for specialised help. Scripture says that the world will know that we represent Christ by our love for each other. Caring for each other is top priority at Northwest and we seek to help and encourage each other through life’s ups and downs.
Our women are passionate about encouraging each other in developing a deeper relationship with God and each other, to work together and encourage one another through every season of life and to bring to maturity the gifts God has given each of them.
The women meet for formally organised events and impromptu outings.
Children’s Ministry, includes: Anklebiters (0-5 years) and Kidstuff (kindergarten to year 5)
Northwest has a strong history of caring for and teaching children about the love of Jesus. Currently we do not have a specific children’s program running during our morning service however our main ministry to children is a Thursday evening program that is held at Stonecutters Ridge Community Centre. Watch this space for the development of new children’s programs!
Fudge Youth Group (Year 6 to Year 9)
Fudge is for young people in years 6-9 at High School. It is a place where youth can be themselves, hang out and be challenged by thought provoking studies. It is a place where young people step out in faith and accept a relationship with God for themselves. The youth’s passion and love for Jesus and each other continues to grow each week!
Contact the church office for information regarding the current program of activities.
Pulse Youth Group ( Year 10 to Year 12)
Pulse is aimed at years 10-12 High School students who are transitioning from their teens to become young adults. It is a group in which they can assert their independence under the guidance of Young adults who support and encourage their faith in Jesus during some of the most changing and challenging years.
We meet every Friday at 7:30pm
Mission; Local and Global
The people of Northwest have a heart for local and global mission. We support the work of Global Interaction and various other missions. We have a special relationship with LIFT in Thailand and have sent regular teams to South East Asia for mission exposure trips.
Northwest has also been involved in a number of Rural Partnership Missions at different locations within rural NSW. These have been exciting partnerships with local Baptist congregations.
